A large selection of drinks are available, the highlights being well kept real ales and over 365 whiskies. On my last visit we sampled Gales HSB and Morlands Old Speckled Hen from the real ale range. The HSB, an old favourite of mine, was a wonderful rich warm colour, clear as a bell and smooth tasting. This beer was my regular drink at a Gales pub I played rugby for for ten years and I can say that the Wight Mouse serves it in superb condition. The Old Speckled Hen was every bit as well kept . The whiskey collection at the Wight Mouse is justly famous. There are over 365 in the collection, one for each day of the year with some extras for special occasions. There are malts, blends, bourbon, Scotch, Irish, Welsh, Canadian, Japanese and others. Make sure someone else is driving if you are going to start working you way through the whiskies!
The pub is quite large with a number of rooms, so you can eat with your family in the no smoking area, play pool with your mates or listen to one of the bands that play at The Wight Mouse in comfort.
There is a menu, a popular childrens menu and specials displayed on blackboards around the bars. The food is not spectacular but good standard pub fare. Items on the menus are available for take away by arrangement.
This is a very popular family pub that can cater for coach parties and runs a taxi service for its customers.
