Smoothies seem to be an up and coming at the moment, so I thought I'd have a go at producing a couple.
The best results, as is frequently the case, are from the simplest methods. I have seen many versions
on television, most are based on the banana, but others use yoghurt, coconut cream or cream as the base.
To slacken the mixture either white grape juice or clear apple juice are the best.
Lots of fresh fruit and exotic juices are the other things you need to make some experiments. A good sounding
one which I haven't tried is coconut cream, yoghurt and vanilla.
For both these recipes put the ingredients into a blender and whizz until smooth. Vary the proportions
I like all the seeds in this one, but others may want to sieve them out.
Ingredients for Smoothy 1
- 1 banana
- 200ml white grape juice
- 1 kiwi fruit
There are some pretty wild mixtures of juices around at the moment. I find I can't drink them as a rule,
too strong a flavour. They are ideal for smoothies though.
Ingredients for Smoothy 2
- 1 banana
- 200ml clear apple juice
- 200ml apricot, mango and orange juice
